Halloween is the BEST! Rory was a fairy, and loved telling that to everyone she saw. Ronan chose to be a British Redcoat. I love it. He is so fascinated with the Revolutionary War. He can tell you all about Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, the Boston Tea Party, Paul Revere, etc. Several months ago he decided to be a british redcoat for Halloween. I said, are you SURE??? Yep. Turns out, since the British were the enemy, that made them "scary." And since he wanted to dress "scary" for Halloween, a Redcoat was the perfect choice!
First, we went to the Parker Spook Skate. It was so much fun this year since Rory can skate all by herself. They just couldn't get enough. Scott and I brought our skates, too, but I just couldn't keep up with them. I guess I'm getting old! Thursday we went to the library's Halloween party. They did NOT want to leave. In addition to crafts, games, candy and a scavenger hunt, they got to parade around the library and yell as loud as they could. How often do you get to scream in the library?!? Friday brought the fall party at school. There were games, food, and crafts. All the kids had so much fun! Friday night, our dear friends Ronnie and Melissa came over, had dinner and we trick-or-treated all around the neighborhood. Poor Rory was upset that she couldn't reach the doorbells! But nothing scares her. It's amazing. They had so much fun. Saturday brought the annual Larkspur festival, not to be missed for anything. The weather was perfect!! The kids won more prizes than we could carry. It was really nice getting one more costumed event after Halloween, it brought the week to a perfect close.
